Telangana police, under the aegis of the Cyber Security Bureau, have initiated a crackdown on agents enticing people to Myanmar’s cybercrime dens, leading to the lodging of nine First Information Reports (FIRs). The move comes in the wake of 24 victims being rescued and brought back, shedding light on the deceptive recruitment methods and coercion tactics employed by these agents through social media platforms. The authorities are actively pursuing additional cases and working towards identifying more individuals involved in this illicit activity. The Cyber Security Bureau’s efforts aim to curb the trafficking of people to cybercrime hubs and protect unsuspecting individuals from falling prey to such schemes.
