Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in India witnessed a significant decline in inflows by 47.22% to Rs 1,979 crore in February, despite soaring gold prices, indicating a trend of profit-taking and investors exploring opportunities in the equity market. However, there was a substantial 99% increase in inflows compared to the previous year. The UTI Gold ETF emerged as the frontrunner with a remarkable 3.70% returns. Gold continues to be a crucial asset for portfolio diversification, especially in times of global economic uncertainty, leading to a 7% growth in Assets Under Management (AUM) to reach Rs 55,677 crore. This data underscores the enduring relevance of gold as a safe-haven investment option even in the face of volatile market conditions.
