In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for foreign travelers entering the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued these guidelines in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to the new rules, all international passengers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report on the portal, which should be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers will undergo thermal screening and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test at the airport. Furthermore, travelers will need to adhere to a mandatory 7-day institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by 7 days of home quarantine. These guidelines are aimed at controlling the spread of the virus and ensuring the safety of the Indian population. It is important for all foreign travelers to familiarize themselves with these regulations before planning their trip to India. Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in penalties or denial of entry into the country.
