Threat to federalism’: Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin leads all-party pushback against population-based delimitation

An all-party meeting led by Chief Minister M K Stalin in Chennai opposed population-based delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies, fearing it would reduce southern states’ representation due to their successful population control. The resolution urged PM Modi to extend the 1971-based delimitation for 30 more years and suggested a constitutional amendment to proportionally increase seats for southern states.
