Tamil Nadu’s Stalin government has raised concerns over the delay in the release of Rs 2,152 crore Samagra Shiksha funds by the Centre, accusing it of “cheating.” This delay is reportedly due to non-compliance with the three-language formula under the New Education Policy. As a result, the state government is utilizing its own funds to ensure the welfare of school students and pay teacher salaries. In the state budget, a substantial amount of Rs 46,767 crore has been allocated for education. The issue of the three-language formula has sparked a debate between the state government and the Centre, highlighting the challenges faced in the education sector.
