Venture capital firm Haun Ventures is reportedly aiming to raise $1 billion for two new crypto-related investment funds in India within the next three months. If successful, $500 million will be allocated to early-stage crypto investments, while the remaining $500 million will go toward late-stage crypto investments, sources told Fortune Crypto on March 21. The VC firm, founded by former Coinbase board member and federal prosecutor Katie Haun in 2022, did not aim for the $1.5 billion it raised in its previous funding round in 2022 due to different market conditions. However, Haun expects the new funds to be oversubscribed. In March 2022, Haun secured $1.5 billion in the company’s first funding round and recruited former executives from Airbnb, Coinbase, and Google tech incubator Jigsaw. The latest fundraising round is set to close in June and is expected to be one of the largest in crypto funding in the past two years. Other venture capital firms like Paradigm and Pantera Capital have sought similar amounts in 2024. VCs predict that stablecoins will continue to be a focus in 2025, with Haun Ventures recently participating in Bitwise’s $70 million funding round. While the specific focus of Haun’s upcoming crypto funds is not publicly known yet, industry experts predict stablecoin interest to continue into 2025. Deng Chao, CEO of HashKey Capital, highlighted stablecoins as a strong use case for crypto in 2024. Market analyst Infinity Hedge predicted that crypto VC investment in 2025 would surpass last year’s levels but not reach the peak seen during the 2021 bull market. VC crypto funding reached $13.6 billion in 2024, down from $33.8 billion in 2021. Cointelegraph’s attempts to reach Haun Ventures for comment were unsuccessful at the time of publication.
