Eyewitnesses in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kathua district described the harrowing events that unfolded during a recent gunfight between security forces and heavily armed terrorists. Anita Devi, who narrowly escaped after terrorists held her husband at gunpoint, recounted the intense gunfire that erupted with approximately ‘250 rounds’ heard. The operation was launched based on intelligence suggesting the presence of terrorists near the Pakistan border. The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing security challenges faced in the region.
