Indian Income Tax offices open over weekend and Eid-al-Fitr to help taxpayers meet fiscal year-end deadlines.

Income Tax offices across India will continue to operate from March 29 to March 31, including the weekend and Eid-al-Fitr, to provide assistance to taxpayers as the fiscal year comes to a close. This decision comes following directives from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) instructing all tax offices and banks engaged in government transactions to remain open. The aim is to ensure that individuals have the opportunity to complete their tax-related tasks and government payments before the financial year concludes. Taxpayers are encouraged to take advantage of this extended availability to address any pending tax matters and fulfill their obligations. The move is expected to ease the burden on taxpayers and facilitate a smooth conclusion to the financial year.
