Indian Income Tax offices to remain open over weekend and Eid-al-Fitr to aid taxpayers before fiscal year end.

Income Tax offices across India are set to extend their working hours from March 29 to March 31, including the weekend and Eid-al-Fitr, to accommodate taxpayers seeking assistance before the fiscal year concludes. This decision comes following directives from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to ensure that all tax offices and banks engaged in government transactions remain open to streamline tax-related activities and facilitate government payments. Taxpayers are encouraged to take advantage of this extended period to fulfill their tax obligations and make necessary transactions before the financial year ends.
