CBFC Orders 17 Changes to Mohanlal’s ‘Empuraan’ Film Over Gujarat Riots Portrayal, Producers Agree to Edits

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has mandated 17 alterations to the Malayalam movie ‘Empuraan’, featuring renowned actor Mohanlal, following objections to its depiction of the 2002 Gujarat riots. The modifications were demanded in response to disapproval from members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), prompting the producers of the film to consent to the required adjustments to alleviate the raised issues.
