India is poised to significantly increase its solar PV module manufacturing capacity to 125 GW by 2030, up from the current 80 GW, with solar cell capacity expected to rise to 40 GW. The Minister of Coal, Mines, and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, emphasized the importance of local manufacturing and the government’s incentives to boost the renewable energy sector. India’s ambitious goal is to double its renewable energy capacity by 2030 and establish itself as a global leader in sustainable energy. This growth will also lead to improved connectivity, bringing solar power to more villages across the country.
