India is poised to significantly increase its solar PV module manufacturing capacity to 125 GW by 2030, up from the current 80 GW, with solar cell capacity set to rise to 40 GW. Minister of Coal and Mines, Pralhad Joshi, emphasized the importance of local manufacturing and the government’s incentives to drive growth in the renewable energy sector. The country has set ambitious targets to double its renewable energy capacity by 2030, aiming to establish itself as a global leader in sustainable energy. This growth will also lead to improved connectivity, bringing renewable energy to more villages across India.
