India is poised to significantly increase its solar PV module manufacturing capacity to 125 GW by 2030, a substantial increase from the current 80 GW. The country also plans to boost its solar cell capacity to 40 GW. Speaking on the matter, Pralhad Joshi emphasized the importance of local manufacturing and the incentives provided by the government to achieve this goal. India’s ambitious target is to double its renewable energy capacity by 2030, positioning itself as a key player in the global sustainable energy market. Furthermore, efforts will be made to improve connectivity in more villages, ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy reach a wider population.
