In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a revised set of guidelines that will be effective from February 22, 2021. As per the new rules, all international travelers will need to submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test report on the portal, which should be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers will undergo thermal screening and must submit the self-declaration form to the health and immigration officials. Travelers from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will also have to undergo mandatory self-paid confirmatory molecular tests upon arrival. The guidelines further state that passengers arriving without a negative test certificate will be subjected to a mandatory quarantine period as per the rules set by the government. These new guidelines aim to enhance the safety measures for international travelers and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in India. It is advised that all passengers carefully adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.
