RBI raises ATM transaction fees by Rs 2, limits free transactions to 5 per month from May 1, 2025.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently revised the fee structure for ATM and Cash Recycler Machine transactions, with a Rs 2 increase in charges. The new fee structure, which will be implemented from May 1, 2025, allows customers to have up to five free transactions at their own bank’s ATMs. However, additional free transactions at other bank ATMs will be limited and based on the location of the transaction. This move by the RBI aims to regulate and streamline the usage of ATMs and Cash Recycler Machines across the country. Customers are advised to familiarize themselves with the updated fee structure to avoid any inconvenience while conducting transactions at ATMs. The revision in fees is part of the RBI’s efforts to ensure transparency and efficiency in banking services.
