In recent news, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a new set of rules that will be effective from February 22, 2021. According to the guidelines, all international travelers will need to submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test report on the portal, which should be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers will undergo thermal screening and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo testing. Travelers from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will also have to undergo mandatory self-paid confirmatory molecular tests upon arrival at the airport. Furthermore, passengers arriving from the United Kingdom will be required to undergo mandatory quarantine for 7 days, even if they test negative for COVID-19. These new guidelines aim to strengthen the existing COVID-19 protocols in place and prevent the spread of new virus strains in India. Travelers are advised to stay updated with the latest information and follow the guidelines to ensure a smooth arrival and stay in the country.
