Jammu and Kashmir Police has recently revealed that they have identified 200 social media handles that are actively involved in spreading radicalisation and glorifying terrorism. The cyber cell’s diligent efforts over the last three months have resulted in pinpointing these handles, with a significant number of them, around 100, operating from foreign locations. Consequently, multiple FIRs have been lodged, and authorities have successfully de-radicalised some individuals who were influenced by the content disseminated by these handles. This development underscores the growing challenge of online radicalisation and the need for proactive measures to counter such activities. The identification and subsequent actions taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Police serve as a reminder of the ongoing battle against online extremism.
