The issue of Katchatheevu has been a longstanding concern for Tamil Nadu, and Chief Minister Stalin’s call for a review of the pact reflects the sentiments of the people in the state. The Chief Minister’s letter to the Prime Minister comes amidst ongoing tensions between Indian and Sri Lankan fishermen over fishing rights in the Palk Strait.
