In 1990, Ag Bahadur Ghali spearheaded a fresh Tuareg rebellion, which resulted in a ceasefire agreement in 1991 following some early successes. Ghali played a prominent role in the uprising, becoming its public face and representing the Tuareg community in peace negotiations. However, as the conflict subsided and his comrades transitioned into governmental roles or civilian pursuits, Ghali found himself at a critical juncture. While global acclaim was showered on Tinariwen, a band he had nurtured to fame, questions loomed over the fate of his revolutionary ideals.
