“Minister Goyal allocates Rs 2,000 crore from startup fund to boost deep-tech seed funding”

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently disclosed that a substantial portion of the Rs 10,000 crore second fund of funds for startups in India will be channeled towards backing seed funding for smaller players in order to fuel deep-tech innovation. The Small Industries Development Bank of India (Sidbi), a government financial institution, has been entrusted with the management of this fund, with a dedicated allocation of Rs 2,000 crore for the current year. This move is aimed at boosting the startup ecosystem in the country and fostering technological advancements across various sectors.
