Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram has contested Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion of enhanced funding to Tamil Nadu during the NDA regime, arguing that economic indicators typically improve with time. Prime Minister Modi has affirmed the increased allocation of funds to the state; however, MK Stalin of the DMK has censured the central government for allegedly disregarding Tamil Nadu’s financial requirements.
