Domestic travel in India continues to thrive, as per Hyatt Hotels’ recent report showcasing a notable shift in the ratio of domestic to international guests compared to pre-pandemic times. The hospitality giant, Hyatt, is set to launch inclusive brands in India and embark on an expansion drive, aiming to add 100 properties to its portfolio within the next five years. The strategic focus will revolve around offering luxurious and experiential stays to cater to the evolving needs of the Indian market. This move comes as the industry witnesses a surge in domestic guests, accounting for up to 80% of Hyatt’s total guests. Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director of Hyatt India, emphasized the rapid growth trajectory the company is currently on, underlining the importance of catering to the domestic segment. With a keen eye on the Indian market’s preferences and demands, Hyatt is gearing up to further enhance its presence and offerings to solidify its position in the country’s hospitality sector.
