Domestic travel in India is thriving, as indicated by Hyatt Hotels which has witnessed a considerable rise in the proportion of domestic guests compared to international ones since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director of Hyatt India, revealed that up to 80% of their guests are now domestic travelers. In response to this trend, Hyatt is strategizing to launch inclusive brands tailored to the Indian market, aiming to grow its portfolio to 100 properties over the next five years. The focus will be on offering luxury accommodations and unique experiential stays to cater to the evolving preferences of the domestic audience. With this shift towards domestic tourism, Hyatt is positioning itself to capitalize on the burgeoning demand for high-quality hospitality experiences within India.
