The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has criticized the Centre for what they perceive as biased tax revenue sharing, alleging that Tamil Nadu only receives 27 paise per rupee collected, while BJP-governed states like Uttar Pradesh get more. The party is advocating for an equitable allocation of funds across all states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently emphasized the initiation of infrastructure development ventures valued at more than Rs 8,300 crore in Tamil Nadu. These projects encompass the establishment of new railway and highway schemes that are designed to enhance connectivity and generate employment opportunities.
