The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has criticized the Central government for what they perceive as unfair tax revenue sharing, stating that Tamil Nadu receives a mere 27 paise per rupee collected, significantly lower than BJP-ruled states such as Uttar Pradesh. The party advocates for a more equitable distribution of funds across states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently emphasized the implementation of infrastructure development initiatives in Tamil Nadu, with projects valued at more than Rs 8,300 crore. These projects encompass the construction of new railways and roads, with the goal of enhancing connectivity and generating employment opportunities in the state.
