In a major development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a set of rules that will be applicable to all travelers coming to India. According to the guidelines, all travelers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report on the portal, which should be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, all travelers will have to undergo a self-paid confirmatory molecular test at the airport. Those found positive will be isolated in an institutional facility, while negative cases can go for home quarantine. Furthermore, travelers from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will have to undergo mandatory seven-day institutional quarantine, followed by seven days of home quarantine. These guidelines are crucial in light of the ongoing pandemic situation and aim to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The government has stressed the importance of following these rules diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
