The Cabinet Committee on Security in India has given the green light to a significant deal worth close to Rs 64,000 crore with France for the procurement of 26 Rafale-Marine fighter jets designated for INS Vikrant. The deal comprises 22 single-seat jets and four twin-seat trainers, complete with weaponry and necessary support systems. The delivery timeline for the aircraft is anticipated to fall within the range of 37 to 65 months.
