Ananthan, a five-time Tamil Nadu Assembly member and former Lok Sabha MP, was known for his contributions to politics and literature. His daughter, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, expressed profound sorrow at his demise, highlighting his deep love for the Tamil language. Ananthan’s body will be kept for tributes at Soundararajan’s residence in Chennai.
