Bitcoin prices in India are on the rise as the cryptocurrency climbs to its highest level since late March. The price of Bitcoin (BTC) surged above $87,400 on April 21, marking its highest price since March 28, according to TradingView. This surge comes after Bitcoin hit an intraday low of just over $84,000 on April 20, showing an increase of over $3,000. Since its low of nearly $75,000 on April 9, Bitcoin has gained 16% and reduced the distance from its peak price to 20%. The recent 2.4% daily gain has pushed Bitcoin to the upper bounds of a range-bound channel that started in early March. Market analyst Scott Melker noted that “Bitcoin is breaking out” while Nasdaq futures were down 1%. The correlation between Bitcoin and gold has also strengthened, with both assets indicating a weaker US Dollar and more uncertainty ahead. The US Dollar Index (DXY) has declined 10% since the beginning of the year as global trade tensions escalate. Analysts have observed gold hitting all-time highs and Bitcoin decoupling from tech futures and the USD. Despite predictions of a fall to $83,000 over the Easter weekend, Bitcoin has defied expectations. Analyst ‘Rekt Capital’ noted that Bitcoin successfully retested its downtrend as support for the first time since the formation of the downtrend. The current market trends suggest a positive outlook for Bitcoin in India as it continues to break out and defy expectations.
