Google settles Android TV antitrust case in India, pays Rs 20.24 crore, offers standalone licenses for Play Store.

Google has reached a settlement with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) over anticompetitive behavior in the Android TV market by agreeing to pay Rs 20.24 crore. This development is significant as it represents the first resolution under the amended Competition Act. As part of the agreement, Google will provide separate licenses for Play Store and Play Services, and eliminate the Android Compatibility Commitments for devices sent to India without Google applications.
