Google has reached a settlement with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) over anticompetitive practices in the Android TV market, agreeing to pay Rs 20.24 crore. This agreement signifies the first resolution under the updated Competition Act in India. As a part of the settlement, Google will provide standalone licenses for Play Store and Play Services, and will also forgo Android Compatibility Commitments for devices that are distributed in India without pre-installed Google apps.
