Google recently reached a settlement with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for unfair practices in the Android TV sector, with a payment of Rs 20.24 crore. This agreement, the first of its kind under the revised Competition Act, requires Google to provide standalone licenses for Play Store and Play Services. Additionally, the tech giant will waive the Android Compatibility Commitments for devices sent to India without Google apps. This move aims to promote fair competition in the Indian market and ensure a level playing field for all stakeholders.
