Pope Francis, the 88-year-old leader of the Catholic Church, has passed away at 7:35 am as confirmed by the Vatican. Cardinal Kevin Farrell acknowledged his commitment to the Church and its marginalized followers. The College of Cardinals, comprising 115 qualified members, will gather in Rome for a confidential conclave to choose the next pontiff, in accordance with long-standing customs.
