A Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Chicago faced a mid-air scare as the interior ceiling of the plane detached, forcing passengers to assist in holding it up until flight attendants managed a temporary fix using duct tape. The flight had to be diverted back to Atlanta, resulting in considerable delays for the passengers who were later accommodated on another Delta aircraft. As a gesture of goodwill, Delta Airlines offered 10,000 miles to the affected passengers as compensation for the inconvenience caused by the incident.
