In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for foreign travelers arriving in the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a set of protocols that all international passengers must follow to prevent the spread of COVID-19. According to the guidelines, travelers must submit a self-declaration form on the online portal of the government at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel. They are also required to upload a negative RT-PCR test report, which should be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Additionally, passengers must undergo a self-paid confirmatory molecular test upon arrival at the airport. If the result is positive, they will be required to undergo treatment as per the existing national guidelines. The guidelines also state that passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East must undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days, even if they test negative for COVID-19. These new protocols aim to strengthen the existing measures in place to curb the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of the Indian population.
