In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for foreign travelers arriving in the country amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The guidelines include the need for all international travelers to submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before their scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report on the portal, conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers will have to undergo another RT-PCR test at the airport at their own expense. The guidelines also state that travelers coming from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East will have to undergo mandatory institutional quarantine for 7 days, followed by 7 days of home quarantine. However, passengers arriving from other countries will only be required to undergo 14 days of home quarantine. These new guidelines aim to strengthen the measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in India and protect the health and safety of its citizens. Travelers are advised to carefully review the guidelines before planning their journey to avoid any inconvenience. The government continues to monitor the situation closely and may introduce further measures as necessary to combat the pandemic effectively.
