The Indian government has recently announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in India amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As per the new rules, all passengers must submit a self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal before the scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report on the portal, which should be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Upon arrival in India, passengers must undergo a self-paid confirmatory molecular test at the airport. If the test result is positive, the passenger will be isolated in an institutional isolation facility arranged by the respective state health authorities. However, if the result is negative, the passenger must undergo a mandatory home quarantine for 7 days. This new set of guidelines aims to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of all passengers and residents in India. Travelers are advised to carefully review and follow these guidelines to avoid any inconvenience during their journey. The government continues to monitor the situation closely and may introduce further measures as needed to combat the spread of the virus.
