Hyderabad Local Body Poll Sees 79% Turnout, BRS Absent as AIMIM, BJP Face Off: Congress Backs AIMIM

The Telangana Legislative Council election for the Hyderabad Local Authorities’ constituency recorded a high turnout of 79%, with 88 out of 112 voters casting their votes. The election saw a contest between BJP’s N Goutham Rao and AIMIM’s Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi, as Congress and BRS chose not to field candidates. BRS instructed its members to boycott the polling process, while Congress backed AIMIM in an effort to thwart BJP’s chances.
