“Hyderabad Local Body Poll Sees 79% Turnout, BRS Absent as BJP and AIMIM Compete”

The Telangana Legislative Council election for the Hyderabad Local Authorities’ constituency recorded a high turnout of 79%, as 88 out of 112 voters exercised their right to vote. The key contenders in the election were BJP’s N Goutham Rao and AIMIM’s Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi. Interestingly, Congress and BRS decided not to field any candidates in this election. BRS took a stand to boycott the polling process altogether, while Congress openly supported AIMIM in an effort to thwart BJP’s chances. The election witnessed intense political maneuvering and strategic decisions by various parties, culminating in a significant voter turnout. This development is crucial in shaping the political landscape in Hyderabad and has drawn attention to the alliances and rivalries among different political factions.
