Taiwan’s cabinet has revealed a budget of NT$410 billion to address the impact of US tariffs, as President Lai Ching-te strives to shield exporters from a potential 32 percent tariff hike. The budget is geared towards bolstering industries, boosting employment, and enhancing public welfare, while also reinforcing coastal patrols and defense measures. This financial plan includes a previously announced assistance package. Additionally, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has announced intentions to make a significant $100 billion investment in the United States.
