Gaming giant Ubisoft has partnered with Web3 firm Immutable to launch Might & Magic: Fates, a blockchain-powered strategy card game set in the Might & Magic universe. The game combines classic strategic gameplay with modern blockchain technology, providing players with digital ownership through Immutable’s Web3 infrastructure. Might & Magic: Fates will be available on iOS and Android, featuring new mechanics, faction-based strategies, legendary heroes, and creatures. Players can collect, trade, and customize decks with hundreds of cards to create unique strategies in a competitive environment. Justin Hulog, Immutable’s chief studio officer, mentioned that the game is free-to-play without hard progression barriers, allowing players to advance by collecting cards and in-game currency through gameplay. Additionally, players can speed up their progression or acquire specific cards through marketplaces. Immutable will supply the blockchain backbone for the project, known for hosting games like Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians, offering true ownership of in-game assets through blockchain technology. Ubisoft has been at the forefront of integrating crypto elements into their games, releasing titles like Champions Tactics: Grimoria and Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. in collaboration with the Arbitrum Foundation. This move signifies Ubisoft’s commitment to embracing Web3 technology in the gaming industry.
