In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for international travelers arriving in the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notification detailing the revised protocols for travelers in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. According to the guidelines, all international passengers must submit a self-declaration form on the online portal www.newdelhiairport.in at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel. Additionally, travelers must upload a negative RT-PCR test report on the portal before boarding the flight. Upon arrival, passengers will undergo thermal screening, and those found symptomatic will be required to undergo testing at designated airports. Travelers who test positive will be isolated and treated as per the health protocols. The guidelines also state that passengers arriving from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East must undergo mandatory institutional quarantine at their own cost. However, passengers arriving from other countries can seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RT-PCR test report on arrival. The new guidelines aim to strengthen the country’s efforts in controlling the spread of COVID-19 and ensuring the safety of its citizens. Travelers are advised to adhere to the protocols and guidelines issued by the government to facilitate a smooth and safe travel experience amidst the pandemic.
