The Delhi Waqf Board has witnessed a remarkable growth in its properties over the past 12 years, increasing from 9 to 1,047, according to a report by the Union government. This surge in properties is attributed to the 2013 amendment to the Waqf Act, which lifted the restriction on enforcing rights over unregistered waqfs. As a result, the number of Waqf Board properties across India skyrocketed from 2,07,394 to 8,72,870, with the total area expanding from 18.
