A potential train accident was narrowly averted near Chennai as miscreants tampered with a railway switch, according to reports. The Southern Railway’s Electronic Interlocking system detected the issue and promptly alerted staff, who secured the area before any trains could pass through. An investigation has been launched into the incident, which occurred not long after a similar occurrence in October 2024. In light of these events, surveillance in the area has been intensified to prevent any further disruptions to the railway system.
