In a recent development, the Indian government has announced new guidelines for foreign travelers arriving in India. The guidelines require all travelers to upload their COVID-19 vaccination certificates on the Air Suvidha portal before their departure. This new rule will be applicable to all international passengers arriving in India from February 14 onwards. The move comes in the wake of increasing concerns over the Omicron variant of the virus. The government has also advised passengers to carry a negative RT-PCR test report, which must be conducted within 72 hours of the journey. Additionally, passengers will be required to undergo a self-paid confirmatory molecular test upon arrival in India. The guidelines further state that passengers who test positive on arrival will be treated as per the existing COVID-19 management protocol. These new regulations aim to strengthen the country’s efforts in controlling the spread of the virus and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
