The former Executive Engineer of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, G. Srinivas Reddy, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Hyderabad for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets. The ACB officials conducted raids at multiple locations linked to Reddy and unearthed assets worth crores of rupees, including properties, cash, and luxury vehicles. Reddy, who served as the Executive Engineer in the Irrigation Department, is accused of accumulating wealth that is disproportionate to his known sources of income. The ACB is investigating the case further to determine the extent of the alleged corruption and the involvement of other individuals. The arrest of Reddy has once again highlighted the issue of corruption in government departments and the need for stringent measures to curb such malpractices. The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, a prestigious project in Telangana, has been marred by controversies and allegations of corruption since its inception. The authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of corruption and that the investigation will be conducted impartially. The arrest of the former Executive Engineer is a significant development in the ongoing efforts to tackle corruption and uphold transparency in public service.
