Rameswaram fishermen imprisoned in Sri Lanka return to India, welcomed by Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department.

Fourteen Rameswaram fishermen, who were detained in Sri Lanka, have successfully returned to India and were received in Chennai on Friday night. The Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department extended a warm welcome to them and facilitated their transportation. The fishermen were apprehended by the Sri Lankan Coast Guard on March 17, but thanks to diplomatic interventions, they have been released and reunited with their families. The safe return of these fishermen marks a positive outcome in the ongoing efforts to address issues related to fishing activities between India and Sri Lanka.
