A recent sting operation conducted near the Uttar Pradesh Assembly in Lucknow uncovered a flourishing tout racket operating at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. The operation revealed that touts, in cahoots with employees of Smart Chip Private Limited, were engaged in the creation of fraudulent identities in exchange for a fee. Upon conducting their investigation, officials from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) corroborated the findings of the sting operation and have since launched additional inquiries into the matter. An FIR has been filed in relation to the illicit activities at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. The revelation of such malpractices highlights the importance of stringent oversight and regulation to safeguard the integrity of the Aadhaar system.
