India is ramping up the development of five hydroelectric projects in Jammu & Kashmir following the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. The main objective behind this initiative is to enhance power generation in the region by a whopping 4000MW. The projects in focus are Bursar, Dulhasti II, Swalkote, Uri Stage II, and Kirthai II, with a projected completion timeline of 3-5 years. This move is poised to significantly bolster India’s power infrastructure and ensure a more sustainable energy supply for the region.
