Ramakrishna Rao appointed as next Chief Secretary of Karnataka, to take over as GHMC boss.

Ramakrishna Rao has been appointed as the next Chief Secretary of Telangana, succeeding Somesh Kumar. He is currently serving as the Special Chief Secretary in the Agriculture and Cooperation department. Rao is a 1988-batch IAS officer and has held several key positions in the state government. He will take over as the Chief Secretary on December 31st, 2021. In another development, Karnan, a 1995-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He is currently serving as the Secretary of the Telangana State Public Service Commission. Karnan will be taking over from Lokesh Kumar, who has been transferred as Secretary to the Government in the Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture department. These appointments come at a crucial time for the state as it grapples with various challenges, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The new appointees will be tasked with leading the state’s efforts in tackling these challenges and driving development in Telangana.
